Vincent Van Gogh, Starry night on the Rhône, 1888, Musée d'Orsay, Paris
Vincent Van Gogh, an artist of the late nineteenth century, fascinates with his mysterious paintings that have resolutely changed the history of painting. Through his use of color, his virtuoso touch and the poetry of his compositions, Van Gogh is an artist who inspired and influenced the generations that followed him.
Like Starry Night on the Rhone, our composition with its different shades of blue translates the colors of a summer evening. In an echoing game, the artist creates a dialogue between the colors : those of the riverbank echo those of the sky, while the stars are reflected in the sapphire blue water. Lisianthus, delphinium and nigella resonate with the soft harmonies of the darkness. Translating the glittering stars of Van Gogh's work, santinis and sunflowers illuminate the composition in a bewitching balance of light and shadow.
This bouquet will remind you of the atmosphere of serenity, calm and harmony of a summer evening by the water. In response to the paintings of Vincent Van Gogh, marked by their great expressiveness, our composition will take you into the warmth of a summer night with multiple reflections.
Aquarelle's artisan florists and the Ecole du Louvre have collaborated to create a capsule collection of flower bouquets inspired by the works of art of the master painters.
In the same way that a painter uses canvas, paint brushes and paints for their creation, our florists have conceived and composed the bouquets of the collection with a fresh floral colour palette.
They apply the same approach, using similar gestures to create a unique and personal creation.
The aim? To put art at the heart of the everyday, in order to discover or rediscover paintings through bouquets which translate the colours, style and spirit of the artwork.
