How to maintain an olive tree?

• In a pot: install in a sunny location rather sheltered from the wind. Water moderately, wait until the soil has dried well between two waterings (approximately every 3 days). Be careful, never leave water in the bottom of the dish, excess water will cause the olive tree to lose its leaves. If the temperature drops below -5°C for a long time, bring it into an unheated, bright place, or offer it a winter cover.


• In open ground: choose a sunny location sheltered from the prevailing winds. Plant in dry, well-drained soil. Be careful, the plants are very resistant to temperatures of -6°C to -10°C for young trees with trunks less than 10 cm in diameter, -12°C to -20°C for adult olive trees with thick bark. . In the event of severe frost, cover the olive tree with a winter veil to protect it from the cold.
